DESIGN, MANUFACTURE, ASSEMBLY AND CE MARKING OF A BRAIDING MACHINE

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The aim of this project is the design and development of a semi-automatic machine to improve a specific step in the manufacturing process of resistors for furnaces in SALVA INDUSTRIAL, S.L.U. This task is currently carried out manually, and the company seeks to optimise it in order to improve ergonomics and worker safety, as well as increase the efficiency of the process. 

Specifically, the project focuses on the creation of an automated system to braid the two silences of resistors of different sizes, ensuring greater precision and uniformity in the final product. The machine will also be designed to comply with the requirements of the CE marking, ensuring that the process meets the required quality and safety standards. 

This development will contribute to the modernisation of the production process, reducing the physical effort of the operator, increasing assembly reliability and improving the company’s productivity.

Methodology

  • Define technical and safety specifications for the machine, define safety measures with EMA.
  • Design development and customer acceptance.
  • Get the materials and start the manufacturing phase.
  • Once the necessary elements have been manufactured, assemble the machine, both mechanical and electrical/electronic.
  • Perform EMA ergonomics test.
  • After making sure it’s all right, take the machine to the company and do the final tests right there in front of the client.
  • EMA ergonomics company, make every effort to get the company to make the CE marking.
  • Make a manual machine user, plans, etc. This will be done by EMA.

Requirements from the company

They have to give us the shelves and the characteristics of all kinds of coils that have to be braided.
