LCAMP Italian regional event at the 34th BI-MU Exhibition in Milan

The LCAMP project held its Italian regional local stakeholders event at the 34th BI-MU Exhibition, held from October 9-12, 2024, at Fieramilano in Milan. Hosted by MADE Competence Center Industria 4.0, in partnership with Associazione Fabbrica Intelligente Lombardia (AFIL), this event brought together stakeholders from the machine tools, robotics, and automation industries for an in-depth look at advanced manufacturing’s latest trends.

BI-MU, Italy’s premier exhibition for innovations in machine tools, robotics, automation, and digital manufacturing, has long been a nexus for technology and industrial expertise. In its 34th edition, BI-MU attracted industry leaders, educational institutions, and eager students to explore the forefront of manufacturing technology.

The LCAMP Project at BI-MU 2024: Strengthening Regional and European Industry

The event, hosted in Italian at MADE4.0 premises, provided a dedicated session to introduce the LCAMP project and its broader objectives in supporting advanced manufacturing across Europe. Key topics included:

  • Digital and Green Transition Services for SMEs: MADE Competence Center and AFIL highlighted the support and training services available to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) embrace digital and green transition strategies essential for long-term growth.
  • Opportunities in Advanced Manufacturing Through EU Projects: LCAMP, along with other EU-supported projects, was presented as an invaluable resource for businesses and individuals seeking to upskill, reskill, and integrate advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Tailored Regional and European Impact: Through the collaboration of regional clusters like AFIL and competence centers such as MADE, LCAMP aims to drive sustainable, technology-driven growth while addressing unique regional needs. This initiative aligns with the broader EU goals of industrial and environmental sustainability, offering targeted support to bolster European industry competitiveness.

Promoting Skills Development and Industrial Growth

At the heart of LCAMP’s mission is equipping Europe’s manufacturing workforce with the skills necessary for tomorrow’s challenges. The project’s upskilling and reskilling initiatives are designed to help companies, particularly SMEs, transition smoothly into advanced manufacturing practices. This includes aligning with digitalization, automation, and sustainability goals that are now critical to maintaining a competitive edge in the global market.

MADE Competence Center and AFIL, by hosting this event, underscored their commitment to nurturing collaboration and innovation within the manufacturing sector, reflecting a shared vision to create an adaptable, future-ready workforce.

Through participation in events like BI-MU, LCAMP continues to drive valuable connections across regions, bridging local and European networks and advancing the manufacturing sector toward a sustainable and digitally empowered future. We are thrilled to be part of this transformative journey and to contribute to fostering innovation in Europe’s industrial landscape.
