Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. Rainer Przywara

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. Rainer Przywara has been the rector of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (known in Germany as the DHBW) since 2017. He studied mechanical engineering at the Leibniz University of Hanover from 1982 to 1987, then history, school and church music. He received his doctorate in 1994 as a Dr.-Ing. at the Institute for Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Hanover and in 2016 he received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Gloucestershire. He worked for Gruner + Jahr, the Gemini Area Group and Continental AG. From 2002 to 2017 he taught as a professor for technical sales and marketing at Hannover University of Applied Sciences.

Rikardo Lamadrid Intxaurraga

Director General of Technology and Advanced Learning, Vice Ministry of VET, Department of Education, Basque Government

Mr Rikardo Lamadrid Intxaurraga has been the Director of Technology and Advanced Learning at the Basque Government’s Department of Education since 2017. His Directorate is responsible for Applied Research and Innovation in Vocational Training, active Entrepreneurship, sustainability in the Basque VT system, and excellence in VT. On the other hand, it is also responsible for the training of VT teachers, the STEAM strategy at VT centres applied innovation projects in collaboration with SMEs, the internationalisation of VT in the Basque Country, and some other areas.

Jon Labaka Intxauspe

Executive Director of Tknika, LCAMP Coordinator

Mr Jon Labaka Intxauspe is the Executive director of TKNIKA. It is a centre promoted by the Deputy Ministry of Vocational Education and Training of the Education Department of the Basque Government. Innovation and applied research are at the core of Tknika. In this Innovative Center, they work on innovative projects in technology, education and management involving teachers from Basque VET centres. Their goal is to develop the capacities of the Basque VET system to the maximum.

LCAMP’S APPROACH TO THE LEARNING FACTORY

Unai Ziarsolo

LCAMP Scientific Coordinator, Basque Country

Mr Unai Ziarsolo is International Project Manager at Tknika. He is the scientific coordinator of LCAMP- Learner Centric Advanced Manufacturing Platform for CoVEs . He leads the WP Learning Factories 5.0 for Industry 4.0 networks within the Bridge 5.0 Horizon Europe project. He is mechanical Engineer by Mondragon University; he started his professional career as VET teacher more than 20 years ago. Before joining Tknika, he was the Innovation Manager at Miguel Altuna VET centre for 10 years.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Dieter Rupp

Professor at DHBW Heidenheim, Baden-Württemberg

Prof. Dr.-Ing Rupp has been a professor of industrial engineering since the year 2000 with a bachelor’s degree. They have been awarded the Baden-Württemberg German State Teaching Prize 2011. In addition, for 10 years he was a professor in the Integrated Engineering master’s program and scientific director at the Graduate School Ostwuerttemberg. With a focus on automation and robotics. He is heavily involved in Research Programs and the strategic development of our study programs. New skills to support students DHBW-Heidenheim is working to adapt the curricula to new competencies/skills/courses to support students meet the needs of the AM industry. In particular, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus-Dieter Rupp believes they had to move away from teaching technical competence to imparting methodological competence and overarching competencies.

THE CANADIAN LEARNING FACTORY: APPROACHES AND ASPIRATIONS

Dr. Richard Gale

Director of Camosun Innovates, Camosun College, Canada

Dr. Richard Gale is Director of Camosun Innovates, the applied research and development centre for Camosun College. With more than forty years of post-secondary experience in Canada and the United States, Richard brings expertise in all four of Boyer’s scholarships and a wide variety of research contexts. He comes to Camosun after serving as Vice President Academic and Provost at Capilano University and founding Director of Mount Royal University’s Institute for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Richard was a researcher at Douglas College and Royal Roads University, a faculty member at Bowling Green State University and Sonoma State University, and a Senior Scholar for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching at Stanford. He holds a PhD in Theatre History (University of Minnesota), an MFA in Playwriting (University of California San Diego), an MA in Drama (San Jose State University), and a BA in Liberal Studies (San Jose State University)

Imtehaze Heerah

Leading Edge Endowment Fund BC Regional Innovation Chair in Mechatronics & Automation, Camosun Innovates @ Camosun College, Canada

Imtehaze Heerah has been a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Camosun College since 2004. He is also the Leading-Edge Endowment Fund (LEEF) BC Regional Innovation Chair in Mechatronics & Automation at Camosun Innovates. Imtehaze is passionate about robotics & automation and works closely with local and regional businesses to help them creatively solve technological challenges they face. These activities also allow him to bring real-world problems into the classroom to enhance students’ learning. Imtehaze holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mauritius and a Master’s degree in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto
