Development of a Smart Collaborative Learning Factory (SCLF) for 5-Axis Didactic Machines

This project transforms the CIFP MAQ-HERR / MAKINA-ERREMINTA LHII VET centre itself into a Smart Collaborative Learning Factory (SCLF). The core activity is the end-to-end design, manufacturing, and assembly of 5-axis didactic machines, replicating a real-world industrial value chain within an educational environment. The project serves as a living lab for students to engage in a complete product lifecycle.

The SCLF integrates advanced technologies like CAD/CAE/CAM, Digital Twins, IoT, AI, and ERP/MES systems. It fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across multiple VET cycles, including Mechanical Design, Industrial Mechatronics, and Programming. The goal is to provide hands-on, industry-relevant experience in smart and advanced manufacturing, preparing students for the challenges of Industry 4.0.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

To establish a Smart Collaborative Learning Factory (SCLF) that produces didactic 5-axis machines

To simulate a real-world manufacturing value chain for hands-on student learning.

To integrate Industry 4.0 technologies like CNC, robotics, IoT, and digital twins.

To enable inter-departmental collaboration across multiple technical training cycles.

To develop student competencies in advanced manufacturing, automation, and digitalization.
