This project involves designing and manufacturing an automated robotic system with a conveyor belt and robotic arm that sorts different parts into various boxes based on characteristics like size, color, and conductivity. The system integrates mechanical design, electronics, and automation technologies.
The SCLF replicates a complete industrial value chain, from 3D product design and digital twin simulation to manufacturing using both conventional and additive technologies (3D printing), final assembly, and quality control. It emphasizes sustainable design principles and lean manufacturing throughout the process.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
Design and manufacture an automated robotic system for sorting parts by size, color, and conductivity.
Implement a complete digital product lifecycle from 3D design and digital twin to physical manufacturing.
Integrate multiple manufacturing technologies including 3D printing and conventional machining.
Apply sustainable design principles and lean manufacturing techniques throughout the production process.
Develop a functional prototype with sensor integration and automated assembly capabilities.
