PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project is the result of the collaboration between Metagra Group, a company specialising in stamping, machining and threading of parts, and CIFP Don Bosco in Errenteria. Its main purpose is to characterise the experimental process of cleaning two automotive parts: DAP HEAD and Input Rod, in order to establish an internal quality control and efficient monitoring of the process at Metagra.
To this end, the critical parameters that influence the cleaning of the parts will be analysed, defining evaluation and validation methodologies to guarantee an optimum quality standard. This study will contribute to the optimisation of the process and the implementation of continuous improvement strategies in production.
Methodology
After a meeting and visit to the plant to determine the company’s needs, the project is defined and developed consisting of four phases. First one, define the experimental procedure and equipment necessary for a study and cleanliness level of manufactured parts, taking into account the end customer’s requirements and ISO 162232 and VDA standards. Two, design and standardize the working protocol for conduction cleanliness tests at the company. And three, establish assessment criteria for the results of the cleanliness test. Four, validate the experimental procedure and standard V6 working protocol with the company.
Requirements from the company
Detailed knowledge of the metal parts to be tested, drawings, cleanliness, cleanliness, requirements to be met, complete manufacturing process from forming, machining, surface finish, quality control, cleaning process and packaging, parts to be tested, customer specifications.
Resources
Vacuum filtration equipment, laminar flow hood, digital microscope, precision balance, drying oven.
Results & Achievements
This means possible rejections to this type of requirement. In turn, the teaching staff who have participated in the project acquire knowledge and a quality of requirements of the automotive sector and for get closer ties with local companies. As indicates in the survey, the company is satisfied with the result and considers this project to be an improvement for the company
