Camosun Innovates is proud to be a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Micro‑Credential Consortium—an alliance of three Canadian colleges (Selkirk College, Red Deer Polytechnic and Camosun College) operating under the Colleges and Institutes Canada “Upskilling for the Innovation Economy” programme. The consortium develops and delivers micro‑credentials aimed at up‑skilling workers in high‑growth sectors.
Within this initiative, the consortium launched three module pathways focused on:
- 2D and 3D Digital Design
 - Tool‑Pathing for Computer‑Aided Manufacturing
 - Data Collection and Analysis for Advanced Manufacturing

Camosun College designed and delivered the Data Collection and Analysis module, which supports current manufacturing workers in strengthening their understanding of data workflows, analysing where their companies stand, and deploying data‑driven strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
As the sole Canadian partner in the Erasmus+ project LCAMP (Learner‑Centric Advanced Manufacturing Platform), Camosun Innovates has taken a leading role in realising LCAMP’s strategic objectives: defining future skills for advanced manufacturing, developing personalised learning paths, recognising micro‑credentials, and fostering international collaboration. One standout element is the Collaborative Learning Factory, where students from different countries work together—virtually and physically—to build a robot and engage directly with emerging technologies.
In September 2025, to highlight its partnerships and capabilities, Camosun Innovates hosted an Open House: “Innovation for the Community” on 25 September (2 pm‑6 pm). The event welcomed 112 representatives from local industry, education and community, who explored the latest manufacturing technologies—such as robotic palletizing and welding, 3D scanning, additive manufacturing—and discovered how Camosun’s applied research and training services support SMEs and learners alike.
By bridging micro‑credentials in Canada with global initiatives through LCAMP, Camosun Innovates contributes to up‑skilling the workforce, supporting innovation in advanced manufacturing, and preparing both learners and regions for evolving industry demands on a global scale.
