As part of the European Week of Regions and Cities 2025 (EWRC), the European Association of Regional and Local Authorities for Lifelong Learning (EARLALL) took an active role in highlighting how lifelong learning drives regional innovation, inclusion, and competitiveness.
Over two inspiring days in Brussels (14–15 October), EARLALL and its member regions presented a diverse programme showcasing how education and training policies can empower people and territories to thrive in times of transition.

LCAMP in the Spotlight
At the EARLALL stand, visitors had the opportunity to meet Alejandra Martínez, Director of the Integrated Vocational Education and Training Centre Santurtzi LHII, from one of the LCAMP Vocational Education and Training (VET) Center and discover how the alliance is shaping the future of VET)excellence across Europe.
The stand featured TKNIKA, the Basque Country’s Centre for Innovation in VET, LCAMP project coordinator, showcasing cutting-edge practices in advanced manufacturing, digitalisation, and collaborative learning. Participants explored how LCAMP connects VET schools, regional authorities, and industry to co-create solutions that anticipate skills needs and strengthen regional innovation ecosystems.
“LCAMP demonstrates how collaboration between regions, VET providers, and businesses can unlock the full potential of skills for a more sustainable and competitive Europe,” said Alicia Gaban Barrio from EARLALL and LCAMP Communications Manager.
The Power Within: Linking People, Skills, and Territories
In the afternoon, the conversation on skills and regional development continued with the workshop “The Power Within: Territories and People Realising Their Potential”, co-organised by EARLALL and the Region Västra Götaland. The event explored how territories can turn brain drain into brain gain through lifelong learning, inclusive ecosystems, and strategic cooperation.
Alejandra Martínez took part in the panel discussion, presenting how the VI Basque VET Plan strengthens cooperation between schools, companies, and social partners to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and employability.
She also underlined the importance of European cooperation through initiatives such as LCAMP, which support VET excellence and empower learners to acquire the skills needed in advanced manufacturing and emerging sectors.
The participation of LCAMP partners at the EU Regions Week demonstrated how transnational collaboration in VET can help regions prepare for the green and digital transitions—ensuring that no learner or territory is left behind.
