In Decembe 2024r, a group of students from Curt Nicolin Gymnasiet in Sweden had the opportunity to participate in an Erasmus Mobility Exchange, visiting Miguel Altuna in the Basque Country. This collaboration, facilitated by LCAMP, marked the beginning of a new partnership between the two institutions. The Swedish students, enrolled in the upper secondary Electrical and Automation program (EQF 4), engaged in hands-on learning experiences during their visit.
While at Miguel Altuna, the Swedish students worked closely with their Basque peers, gaining valuable insights into regional electrical engineering practices. They collaborated on projects related to solar panel installations, conducting studies to assess energy consumption and output. Additionally, the students visited a local company specializing in solar energy solutions, which further enriched their understanding of the field. The participants found the experience to be highly educational and appreciated the opportunity to collaborate with international peers.
In February 2025, students from Miguel Altuna traveled to Sweden for a reciprocal visit to Curt Nicolin Gymnasiet. During this visit, the Basque students worked alongside Swedish students, learning about Swedish installation techniques and gaining practical experience in electrical installations. They also had the opportunity to explore basic PLC programming and work with digital twin technology using Simumatik software. The exchange included visits to two companies specializing in these areas, offering the students further exposure to industry practices.
Overall, the exchange has proven to be a highly valuable experience for both institutions, fostering international collaboration and providing students with practical, real-world skills in the field of electrical and automation engineering.
