PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The aim of this project is the design and development of an automated device to optimise the process of filling, pressing and perforating pots at C.D. Blasenea, a nursery specialising in ecological plants. This process is currently carried out manually, and the company is looking for a solution that improves work ergonomics and increases operational efficiency.
The device must be able to adapt to different pot sizes, ensuring uniform soil filling, proper pressing and precise drilling for seed placement. In addition, priority will be given to a design that facilitates its use and minimises the physical effort of the operator, thus improving working conditions and optimising production time.
This project will automate a key stage of the cultivation process, contributing to more efficient and sustainable production in the nursery.
Methodology
- Agree with the company on the characteristics of the machine.
- Machine design.
- Execute manufacturing.
- After the assembly of the machine at the center, perform tests to verify its proper functioning.
- Ride the company and do the final tests.
Requirements from the company
Specify their needs, determine all the variables and give them a vase of each type.
Resources
The software needed to develop 3D design, in this case SolidEdge, a milling machine and a lathe to be able to manufacture parts, assembly tools, tools to be able to make measurements of the result, 3d printers and scanner, …
Results & Achievements
The machine, having filled the various pots with earth, offers the opportunity of crushing it. The different crushing plates can be changed in a very simple way. Thanks to the 3D impression, we have been able to achieve the desired form of oppression by the company.
For the worker who has to fill and crush the pots, the ergonomic aspect has been greatly improved, avoiding future injuries. On the other hand, the working time of each vase has been reduced, improving productivity.
