Design and Production of an Autonomous Mecanum Wheeled Robot

This project involves the complete design, fabrication, and commercialization of an autonomous, omnidirectional robot using Mecanum wheels. The process integrates multiple vocational cycles, covering electronic design with ESP32, chassis fabrication in the Maker Space (3D printing, laser cutting), sensor assembly, and final marketing and sales strategies.

The SCLF serves as a multidisciplinary platform that replicates a real industrial value chain. It fosters competencies in mechatronics, digital manufacturing, supply chain management, and entrepreneurship, while incorporating principles of sustainability and a human-centred work environment..

GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

Design and manufacture a fully functional autonomous robot using Mecanum wheels and ESP32 control system.

Integrate multiple vocational cycles covering electronics, mechanics, programming, and business administration.

Implement a complete industrial value chain from component sourcing and digital fabrication to marketing and sales.

Develop student competencies in IoT programming, sensor integration, and mechatronic system assembly.

Establish a sustainable manufacturing process incorporating lean principles and human-centered workplace design.
