Circular Economy and Sustainability through the precious Plastic Project

This project consists of the design and implementation of a Smart Collaborative Learning Factory (SCLF) at the Zornotza VET center, building upon and expanding the existing “Precious Plastic” initiative. Its core purpose is to create a multidisciplinary and collaborative learning environment where students from various technical cycles design, manufacture, and distribute plastic recycling machinery and recycled plastic pellets. By integrating advanced technologies such as IoT, robotics, automation, blockchain for traceability, and digital twins, and by operating under the core pillars of circular economy, sustainability, and digitalization (LH Cloud), the project aims to simulate a complete, real-world industrial value chain to provide students with practical, industry-relevant competencies.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

o implement a Smart Collaborative Learning Factory (SCLF) based on the Precious Plastic circular economy model.

To engage multidisciplinary VET students in the full value chain, from design to distribution of recycling machines and plastic pellets.

To integrate advanced Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies like robotics, IoT, digital twins, and blockchain into hands-on learning.

To promote sustainability through energy efficiency, eco-design, and the use of surplus materials.

To foster collaboration between VET centers, companies, and local schools while developing employability and entrepreneurship skills.
