PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project establishes a Smart Learning Factory to collaboratively design, manufacture, and assemble skateboard components (wheels, decks, trucks) across multiple VET specializations. It simulates a large enterprise where different “divisions” (cycles like Automation, Web Development, Administration, and Mechanical Manufacturing) handle specific parts of the value chain.
The phased project integrates advanced digital tools (PLM, ERP, Digital Twins) with smart manufacturing cells (robotic assembly, AI vision, IoT) and sustainable strategies. It provides a real-world, multidisciplinary environment for students to experience the entire product lifecycle from initial design to automated packaging, embodying Industry 4.0/5.0 principles.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
Collaborate across VET programs to produce a complete skateboard.
Manage the skateboard’s lifecycle with integrated PLM and ERP software.
Build automated cells using robotics, IoT, and AI for smart production.
Teach Industry 4.0 skills through digital twins and augmented reality.
Simulate a real company to learn project management and sustainable operations.
