PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project involves the creation of a Smart Connected Learning Factory (SCLF) cell to manufacture, assemble, palletize, and store two mechanical components for a local company. It integrates the entire value chain, from part design and traditional machining to a fully automated 4-station system using industrial robots (Universal Robots, ABB, KUKA) for sorting, assembly, palletizing, and storage.
The project provides students with hands-on experience in mechanical engineering, automation, and robotics, simulating a real-world industrial environment. It bridges the gap between manual skills and advanced digital manufacturing, preparing learners for the modern factory floor.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
Integrate the full industrial value chain from part design and fabrication to automated assembly and storage.
Implement a smart automation system using industrial robots and tracking technologies like RFID and Data Matrix.
Develop student competencies in mechanical fabrication through traditional machining of precision components.
Bridge conventional workshop skills with Industry 4.0 digital manufacturing and automation technologies.
Simulate real-world industrial production by managing complete manufacturing processes from client order to final delivery.
