Josu Etcheverry spoke at the session “Beyond KA131”, which explored the cooperation opportunities Erasmus+ offers beyond mobility
Toledo, 17 September 2026. Tknika, the Basque Country’s Centre for Innovation in Vocational Education and Training, took part in the training and follow-up conference for Erasmus+ Higher Education mobility projects, organised by the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE) from 15 to 17 September on the Fábrica de Armas campus of the University of Castilla-La Mancha in Toledo.
The event brought together more than 400 representatives of Higher VET centres from across Spain and was held in collaboration with the Regional Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Castilla-La Mancha and the University of Castilla-La Mancha. The conference highlighted the results of the 2026 Erasmus+ call, in which VET leads participation in Higher Education with 996 of the 1,273 selected projects, or 78% of the total.
“Beyond KA131”
On Thursday 17 September, Josu Etcheverry of Tknika spoke at the session “Beyond KA131”, which presented examples of how VET centres can broaden their international dimension through other Erasmus+ instruments, beyond mobility projects. The session was moderated by Loreta Paulauskaite, Head of Section in SEPIE’s Higher Education Unit, and also featured Sergio Banderas of CPIFP Alan Turing in Málaga.
In his presentation, “CoVEs: The Erasmus+ Centres of Vocational Excellence”, Etcheverry explained the role of these centres as European benchmarks in vocational education and training and shared Tknika’s experience in the LCAMP CoVE, which focuses on advanced manufacturing. He also introduced the creation of the LCAMP ALLIANCE, a European collaboration network of VET centres working on advanced manufacturing, designed to give continuity and reach to the cooperation developed within the CoVE. Attendees showed interest in the alliance.
A more international and collaborative VET
Taking part in this conference reflects LCAMP’s commitment to sharing its experience with the VET community and encouraging other centres to move from mobility towards strategic cooperation, innovation and networking at European level.
