PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The CLF is a practical way of teaching in a specialized learning environment that replicates real-world industrial settings and provides hands-on learning experiences to students. It is designed to simulate industrial processes, complete with tools, machines, and materials, and allow students to apply the knowledge they have acquired in the classroom to a mini factory on campus.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
This multidisciplinary product involves electromechanical design, manufacturing, assembly and programming.
Project was initially developed by 1st year mechanical engineering technology student Jesus Ponce de Leon.
Project objective was to adopt work completed by European partners and build on it.
Identified improvement opportunities in existing design to develop a complete and fully functioning robot.
Electrical systems completed in Fall 2024 and presented to other partners.
Outcome: The Camosun College design is being adopted by other working group partners.
Project will have substantial long-term benefits for Camosun students.
