LCAMP-ers cooperation, Curt Nicolin Gymnasiet photovoltaic exchange with Miguel Altuna

LCAMP is about learning cooperation and creating synergies between different Vocational Education and Training Centers and learners. How this can be put into practice?

LCAMP-er Curt Nicolin Gymnasiet (Sweden) engaged in a learning exchange with Miguel Altuna VET Center (Bergara, Basque Country) from 16 to 20 March 2024. The learning activity included one automation teacher and 15 electricity, electronics, and automation learners from the Curt Nicolin Gymnasiet.

The programme was focused on learning more about Miguel Altuna’s studies on solar power installation and energy consumption. Swedish learners participated in the teaching lessons and had the opportunity to meet and share their knowledge with the Miguel Altuna students and teachers. The exchange was divided into three different activities: first a theoretical lesson, a practical exercise and finally a study visit to a local company.

In the classroom, learners had the opportunity to work together on analyzing Miguel Altuna’s solar power installation and energy consumption. Then, they moved into practice, learning how to install the photovoltaic panels on the Miguel Altuna VET Center roof. To finish the training, learners were invited to a study visit to the local company Lazpiur, which offers cutting-edge technology solutions for the Electronics, Inspection, Lighting and Healthcare sectors. Thanks to the visit to the company learners could understand how their technical skills and put into practice in the world of work.

LCAMP-er Curt Nicolin Gymnasiet described their exchange by saying “We are pleased with this collaboration, and we have already begun planning to host Miguel Altuna students in Sweden. We believe this marks the beginning of a strong and mutually beneficial partnership. Our next goal is securing a new budget from Erasmus+ Programme to facilitate our next trip within that framework.”
